The UAW and Ford Motor Company will honor Workers’ Memorial Day on Friday, April 26, 2013.

During the 2011 Negotiations, the UAW and Ford Motor Company agreed to an addition to Appendix S that asks plants to pause for a moment of silence on each operating shift in remembrance of our fallen workers.

It’s important that on this day set aside for the remembrance of our fellow workers that we all reflect on our personal commitment to strong health and safety standards. Our vigilance will ensure we can all go home safely every day to our families and friends.

This year’s theme is “Safe Jobs Save Lives – Make Your Voice Heard.” It highlights the importance of having the courage to speak up and be our brothers and sisters keepers. We have jointly developed a Worker Memorial Day video to support this important commemoration which will air on the plant communication network and is also available to view below.
