Support the Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial
The Michigan World War II Legacy Memorial is officially recognized as the state’s tribute to its Veterans’ contributions during WWII overseas and at home. The non-profit organization is currently raising funds to build this lasting memorial to honor the over 620,000 courageous men, women and children who fought for victory. It will provide a year-round, multi-purpose destination that tells Michigan’s unique story and encourages visitors to commemorate and celebrate their freedom. It will be span three quarters of an acre in Memorial Park, Royal Oak, Michigan. The goal is to have the memorial completed in time to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in 2020. Financial assistance is needed to accomplish this historically significant site. You can help by donating, purchasing a customized brick with your family or friend’s Veteran’s name, buying a 1/3 or 1/2 – scale park statue replica, joining the Wall of Stars Honor Roll or donating via state tax refund or general tax return.
- Public Acts 356 2018 and 257 2018 will allow state income tax payers to donate to the memorial via their state tax refund or general tax return. Taxpayers can make their contributions using the Michigan Voluntary Contribution Schedule, form 4642. Please note that this schedule is an additional form and not part of the standard MI 1040 form. Please consult your tax advisor for details.
